Jewelry From The Stars

Always the trend setter, Drew Barrymore has been spotted from all over the place – from Essex, UK to East Hollywood – promoting her upcoming movie Going the Distance with Justin Long and making appearances at festivals and parties, like the recent V Festival.

I love how she’s let her hair growing long again, sporting the chic hippie look of waves and braids. Her earthy fringed style at the V-festival was a great style for her but could have been completed with maybe a few silver cuff bracelets or bangles. A cool black onyx ring or some sort of turquoise jewelry would have also been a great accessory.

I really enjoyed the multi colored vintage dress she wore to the Nylon magazine party.  Her long hair didn’t reveal any fun pair of earrings to compliment the dress, but I also don’t think much was needed to accessorize this look.

Stars such as Christina Ricci , Kristin Cavallari, and Anna Kendrick were spotted at the blackberry torch launch party.  Christina Ricci wore a Louis Vuitton skirt and a printed silk blouse that she was seen wearing 8 years ago.  It is amazing that she kept it all this time. 

Kristin Cavallari picked up her very own blackberry torch wearing a formfitting nude dress and gold bracelets.  This California girl always seems to stay golden even if she isnt wearing a nude color. 

Twilight star Anna Kendrick rocked an all black get-up layering a black hoodie over an Alice+Olivia black dress with a pair of Botkier booties.

It’s been awhile since we’ve Julia Roberts hitting the pavement to promote a new movie, but with the upcoming release of Eat Pray Love, Ms. Roberts has been seen everywhere from the Live with Regis and Kelly to The Late Show with David Letterman just last night.

Julia is a natural beauty with a down to earth fashion style. This mom of three has lately keeping her fashion appearances pretty subtle and blase, but seeming to favor stackable bangle bracelets and beaded chandelier earrings, a definite Indian jewelry style.

Katy Perry, who is known for her crazy fashion statements has appeared to have tasted the rainbow.  In the latest issue of the Guardian, Katy is featured wearing different colored wigs.  It seems that she is a fan of wearing crazy colored wigs and flaunting them as her own. 

The California Girl singer is seen wearing jewelry from Chamal, Erica Anenberg, and Chanel.  Katy opens up about her future hubby Russel Brand and how she got him to settle down with just one girl. She also tells Guardian that she is not going to settle down when she is married, she is only going to work harder to make it to the top and completely sell out.

Twilight Stars ruled the award show with 12 wins, including choice fantasy movie and villain.  The Vampire Diaries’ sucked up seven surfboard-shaped trophies making this a big night for the bloodsuckers.  Host Katy Perry said, “This is what this night is all about, Vampires.”

There were a lot of great wins for actress Sandra Bullock who got low on stage with Betty White.  Betty told Sandra “I hate to blind-side you, but I’ve been coming to this show for years.”  If you think you’re fitting in, think again, dear.”

It was a good night for fashion for all stars.  Ashley Greene looking stunning in a strapless Valentino dress, a Killian clutch, and Ferragamo pumps.  She wore a beautiful pair of champagne earrings that really accented her dress. Glee star Mark Salling looked tough in a suit sans jacket and a pair of black sneakers.  The best dressed I have to say was Selena Gomez in her  BCBG Max dress and metallic heels.

I have previously written about Carey Mulligan and her unconventional choices of clothing to wear at red carpets and such. But, I had to write once more about her. She is just such a good person to write about when it comes to fashion and jewelry!

Well, talking about jewelry, Carey Mulligan is known to wear jewelry by Fred Leighton to accompany dresses which she wears to award shows. Now, here is where it gets good – I know you guys must have noticed the beautiful jewelry that Mulligan was wearing at the 2010 Academy Awards. If you didn’t notice it, you must have not really been paying attention to what was going on in the red carpet because her jewelry was simply impeccable. She wore a 19^th century cascading diamond/diamond briolette earrings and a diamond knot ring. The look was simply breath-taking and, as always, she looked great in her Prada gown with this jewelry to accompany it.

Carey Mulligan is the actress we all have to have that “I-can’t-wait-to-see-what-she’s-going-to-wear” feeling for right before any red carpet.

Celebrities Eva Longoria and Ashlee Simpson jazz things up at the Neil Lane bridal collection for Kay Jewelers debut.  Eva wore a ruched black Gustavo Cadile dress and peep-toe platforms.  She accented her outfit with diamond jewels from the line.  This was a great look for her and she looked like she was ready to attend a wedding.  All she really needed was her own huge wedding ring. 

Ashlee Simpson looked very sleek and thin draped in a long silk black gown, who would have known that she ever had a baby.  I don’t know if I was exactly digging her long two tone wavy hair.  It looks like she had a bad dye job and missed the bottom half of her head.  She did look great in bangles and chandelier earrings I have to admit. 

It was a different look for both of the stars but I think glam fits them well.  Maybe all stars should start going glam and wear bridal jewelry all of the time!

Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise were in Munich, Germany last night for the premiere of their new movie, “Knight and Day”.  Cameron looked amazing of course in a white Bottega Veneta dress with an off the shoulder pleat.  The dress was paired with Pierre Hardy peep-toe heels and a fashion ring.  Ms. Diaz without a doubt pulled off the dress great with her long legs.

Brad and Angelina were seen at the LA premiere of “Salt” on Monday, July 19th.  It was a shock to see Brad looking as handsome as ever without that long ugly beard.  Good thing he shaved that because he was starting to look like an old homeless man.  Angelina wore a strapless black sequin dress with nude colored pumps.  She accessorized with diamond studs and a black snake bracelet.  I’d have to say that her best accessory was definitely Brad on her arm.  Brad showed up with his new clean look wearing aviators and a gold necklace.  Who knew the couple could clean up so well?

The 2010 ESPY Awards were hosted by Seth Meyers at the Nokia Theatre in LA.  The ESPY Awards are a night where athletes and entertainers come together to celebrate the best sports stories of the year.  Stars such as Ashley Greene, Zac Efron, Marisa Miller, and Demi Moore were seen walking the red carpet. 

Although Ashley Greene did look beautiful, she was a bit of a let down to me.  She wore a high-neck, sleevless red versace dress and black pumps.  I can’t say that I am a huge fan of the black shoes but I did love her black studded cuff.  Marisa Miller looked stunning in a black Alexander Wang dress.  It was nice to see her in something other than Victoria Secret clothes.  She also had on black heels with sparkling chandelier earrings. 

It was a memorable night full of many winners.  Drew Brees took home the best male athlete award and Lindsey Vonn took home the best female athlete award.
