As we gear up for the 2010 Academy Awards this Sunday, we wanted to reflect on some of the styles that we saw grace the red carpet at last year’s award show. As always, there were plenty of “oooo”s, “aaaaa”s, and “what the….”.
The top picks for the night were Angeline Jolie’s emerald pear drop earrings that sparkled beautifully with her hair pulled back. The green was only emphasized by her black dress.
One of my favorite’s from that night, and it maybe because she accessorized with her handsome hubby, was Diane Lane
wearing a Dolce and Gabana fitted dress and a stunning flaming necklace that fitted nicely with the dress’s neckline. Penelope Cruz and Anne Hathaway also dazzled me with their gorgeous ivory gowns and sparkling diamond earrings and necklaces.
With all the hype surrounding this year’s show, it should prove to be an interesting one. I would keep my eye out for the celebrity style cocktail rings and cuff bracelets, they seem to be the biggest trend right now.

So the 2010 Oscar nominees were recently announced, surprisingly nominating 10 Best Motion Pictures and a slew of first time nominees, like for Best Actress.
The Blind Side really has made some waves for Sandra Bullock. She not only went blond for the movie, but she pulled off a more conservative style. In the movie she stuck to wearing a simple
bubbles cross pendant and diamond stud earrings.
One thing I like about the Oscars are the random actors they pull in for nominations, who you really don’t pay much attention to until awards ni
ght. This year we have Helen Mirren for The Last Station, who always looks amazing on the red carpet with stunning drop earrings and tennis bracelets and Carey Mulligan in An Education. Even though Carey seems completely shy on the red carpet, she has an amazing taste in fashion, always keeping her jewelry simple with necklaces and earrings.
The real newcomer to the scene is Gabourey Sidibe in Precious. From what I’ve seen, Gabourey seems to be a pretty down to earth girl with a similar fashion sense. With Mariah Carey being over the top with tight dresses and major bling jewelry, Gabby has stuck to hip hoop earrings, long nameplate necklaces, and fabulous pear drop earrings.
Never tired of seeing her, Meryl Streep will be gracing the Academy Awards again for her awesome role in Julie & Julia. Meryl got this character down right to the pearl necklaces she always wore. Always a classic, I look forward to how Meryl will be wowing the red carpet.
So the count down begins for the next Awards show and one of the best evening of celebrity style and glam. I can’t wait, can you?…

Lady Gaga has once again raised the bar in the fashion world. Appearing at the 2010 amfAR event in New York this past week, the queen of unique fashion was a walking white pearl on the red carpet. With white pearls glued to her skin and embedded in every piece of clothing, Lady Gaga appeared ethereal next to rock legend Cyndi Lauper.
Though I wouldn’t exactly recommend developing a similar pearl jewelry style, Lady G does remind me how stunning pearl jewelry can actually be.
To breathe a little spring into your winter, start looking for some new pearl or freshwater pearl jewelry styles. The layered pearl necklace looked pretty cool on Rihanna not too long ago, or maybe keep it simple with a clustered freshwater pearl ring, pearl stud earrings, and a cz and pearl bracelet.
Pearls are an elegant and classic jewelry accessory which we seem to sometimes forget. Lets follow Lady Gaga’s lead and bring it back into style this spring season!

The Twilight series saga is gaining a lot of attention from designers of all sorts. There’s a lot buzz out there following the styles of Kristen Stewart and her character Bella, covering a wide range of fashion. While Kristen always seems to hit the red carpet in a rock -n- roll punk look of dark colors, layered necklaces, and stud bracelets, her on screen character sticks to a more conservative, tuned down wardrobe of earth tone colors and charm bracelets.
The movie itself has sparked a lot of Twilight knock off jewelry - including the Cullen Family Crest Necklace, Bella’s moonstone ring, and several Team Edward charm bracelets and Team Jacob bracelet styles. Yet to be seen in the movie, but still hitting the jewelry scene, is the Bella inspired engagement ring. Inspired from the book, jewelry designers have been popping out with their own unique
designs to keep up with the Twilight fad. You can easily find a silver and cz Twilight inspired engagement ring without spending a whole lot on it and still have a pretty stylish ring.
If you like the gothic and vintage jewelry styles that the series is inspiring, there seems to plenty of jewelry designers who are creating their own unique interpretations. Even if you don’t like the series, there’s still some pretty cool stuff out there. What say you?

Marylin Monroe sang it right way back in the day, nothing glamorizes an outfit or can lift a girl’s spirits like a stunning pair of diamond stud earrings or a glittery diamond tennis bracelet.
With all these award shows and Valentine’s Day approaching fast, you best keep your eyes open for the latest and hottest diamond jewelry styles. There’s plenty of pieces from your favorite designers like Cartier and Tiffany for you to start dropping hints for your Valentine’s Day gift!
At the Golden Globes, actresses Drew Barrymore and Sandra Bullock were seen with stunning Lorraine Schwartz diamond stud
earrings and drop earrings, while Penelope Cruz glitzed it up with a pair of elegant Chopard pear drop earrings and diamond bracelet. But nothing really compared to the Kate Hudson long diamond necklace she wore at the SAG awards, which hung gracefully down her beautiful white Emilio Pucci gown with open back.
The Grammy Awards show saw singer Pink wearing a pair of Neil Lane diamond dangle earrings that were exactly the pair Ginnifer Goodwin wore to the Golden Globes. You can get the look a cheaper price with a pair of quality cz dangle earrings.
But if diamonds are little out of your price range, especially the bigger and blingier styles, then opt for quality cubic zirconia jewelry. A great pair of cz stud earrings with a matching cubic zirconia tennis bracelet can still catch light and color like any other gemstone, just without the heavy price tag.
Keep watching the red carpet for some great jewelry styles and read here to find where you can find affordable jewelry styled from your favorite stars.

Last night’s Grammy Music Awards show was nothing short of interesting with fashion and style. From the unique tastes of Lady Gaga to the style and grace of Nicole Kidman, there was plenty to pick and choose the best or worst dressed.
There was definitely a sci-fi feel to the evening between J Lo’s Versace chain mail dress, Beyonce’s Armani Prive chain mail dress with Swarovski crystals, and
Lady Gaga’s exotic Armani Prive gown. While I couldn’t really appreciate the over sized hoop earrings for the Tina Turner Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome look on Beyonce, I can compliment J Lo for tuning down the Barbarella hair with fashionable, chunky cuff bracelets and Lorraine Schwartz 60 carat diamond stud earrings. Lady Gaga’s walking starburst look, however, can only be recreated by the most creative of persons.
Once again, it was a night of awe, beauty, and complete devestation (really, Brittany? What are you wearing?), but overall a decent show.

Once again, the red carpet was rolled out to welcome guest and award nominees for the 2010 Golden Globe Award to kick off the new year of awards shows.
This year was no different in welcoming the latest of celebrities and hot new fashion and jewelry styles. There was a lot of Cartier, Chanel, and Tiffany jewelry, just to name a few jewelry designers.
There was a lot of sparkle seen from the red carpet as the your favorite celebrities accessorized with long, sparkling dangle earrings, diamond cluster stud earrings, and simple stunning peardrop earrings. There were also plenty of glamorous tennis bracelets and diamond cuff bracelets.
The chicest look of the night was Ginnifer Goodwin, who wore a stunning blue drape dress. Her
mod haircut and makeup eccentuated the look, but it was the funky, geometric shaped drop earrings and tasteful glam cuff bracelet that completed the look.
A complete miss on the red carpet, which is a shock to those who follow her style, was Miss January Jones and her drab black Lanvin gown with a thick black headband. She really missed her fashion mark with the chunky bangle bracelets that she wore.
Other then that, it was a rainy day filled the elite of style and fashion.

Always a red carpet favorite, Rachel McAdams has been making several stunning appearances as she, Robert Downey Jr, Jude Law, and others have been promoting and appearing at premiers for their new movie Sherlock Holmes.
Rachel has always been a favorite of mine on the red carpet. Always displaying style and grace in her sophisticated designer style fashion. Her taste in accessories for these recent events have been drop or dangling earrings, a glamorous cocktail ring, and sometimes a simple diamond bracelet.
At the Madrid premier for the movie, Miss McAdams showcased a red, square cut cocktail ring set in a border of white diamonds, much like a David Yurman style ring. Her earrings appear to be stunning black circle dangle earrings, an interesting look for the nude designer dress she was wearing.
Rarely has Rachel been seen in a tasteless or completely awful outfit, and she has made no exceptions as she makes the circuit to support her new movie.

The Diva herself has been making waves lately with the release of her new movie Precious and last night’s People’s Choice Awards where she won Best R&B Artist of the year.
With all the promoting she’s doing, Mariah has seemed to tone down her normal too-tight, short skirt, revealing plunging necklines for a more sophisticated and glamorous fashion. Though some may consider last night’s tight fighting, white Ysa Makino gown to be a step back to her normal fashion, Mariah is still showing a more mature and graceful side to her image.
One thing Ms. Carey hasn’t done is strayed from her bling jewelry and signiture butterfly ring. Her latest red carpet appearances reveal that she still treasures the big dangle earrings and hoop earrings and stunning fashion diamond tennis bracelets that sparkle along with this gal’s stardom!
Mariah Carey is the sweetheart of divas and it will be wise to keep an eye on her as her fashion sense blossoms.

If you’re having trouble with a holiday gift idea and know that your spouse, girlfriend, significant other, or whatever loves to wear clothing and jewelry from her favorite starlet, then pick up on the latest buzz for some great new styles.
We mentioned it before, but now that the movie is out, we have to hype it up again, but check out the petite cross necklace that Sandra Bullock wears in the new hit movie The Blind Side. Sandra’s got the stylish soccer mom look going for her in the movie, but she’s still looks great. The movie is seems to be doing great and quite a few people have fallen in love with her character’s look.
Always a trend setter, Jennifer Aniston has had some buzz in certain necklaces that she has worn in some recent movie. People have fallen in love with the heart and key pendant from Marley & Me. My personal favorite has been the wishbone necklace from He’s Just Not That Into You movie. I’ve seen both styles as a silver necklace and a gold necklace from the Jennifer Meyer collection. You can find something on the cheap by buying a cubic zirconia necklace instead of diamonds.
An oldie, but a goodie, is always the nameplate necklace worn by Sex and the City character Carrie. Sarah Jessica Parker blew this style out of the water, only to make other stars like Lauren Conrad adopt it to their style. You can find other customized gifts like the initial name tag necklace, or a monogram ring.
